A single blossom of viridiflora tulip Artist showing the flower as it first opens with bold orange and dark green petals.

Tulip Viridiflora Artist

Artist was one of the world's first viridiflora tulips and it's still among the best. These distinctive flowers have fluted petals that start out carrot-orange with deep green and purple markings. As the blossoms mature, they gradually fade to dusky salmon, olive and lavender. At just under a foot tall, this is a relatively short tulip and ideal for planting at the front of a border or along a walk. Blooms early and lasts two weeks or more.
